Cocktail No. 1
THE BARCELONA
ingredients
maker's mark bourbon 2 oz
cointreau 1 oz
fresh sour mix*,
splash cava 2 oz
don’t forget to make ice
TOOLS
mixing glass (or anything you can cover and shake this in)
shaker
strainer
knife or a peeler
INSTRUCTIONS
Fill mixing glass with ice
Pour all ingredients except cava
Shake vigorously
Strain into a coupe, martini, wine glass, whatever you’ve got
Float cava on top
Garnish with an orange twist
* MAKE AHEAD *
Simple Syrup: 3 parts hot water + 1 part sugar, stir and dissolve, let cool
Sour Mix: start with 4 lemons and 8 limes, juice and strain into separate containers, mix 2 parts lemon + 2 parts lime + 1 part simple syrup, makes approximately 16 oz.
